Sometimes when I'm making beats I put on speeches in the background. That was how I made this, I had James Baldwin speeches on loop. I read 'The Fire Next Time' when I was 18 and it changed me, I'm currently reading Giovanni's room and I find an exploration of love and fragility that I love in Baldwin's work. He a legend.
